The 2024 K-Expo, also known as the 6th Newsis Hallyu Expo, is set to honor some of Korea's most exceptional talents in the entertainment industry. Scheduled to take place at the Great Hall of the Chosun Palace in Yeoksam-dong, Seoul, on August 22 at 3 PM, the event promises to be a significant highlight in the cultural calendar.

Key Highlights of K-Expo 2024

Kim Soo Hyun: Receives the Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Award for his role in Queen of Tears, a series with a record-breaking finale viewership rating of 24.85%.


Kim Hye Yoon: Honored with the National Assembly Culture, Sports, and Tourism Committee Chairman’s Award for her role in Lovely Runner, praised for its emotional depth.


Honorees and Their Achievements

Kim Soo Hyun will be honored with the Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Award for his outstanding performance in tvN's hit drama Queen of Tears. The series, which achieved a record-breaking nationwide viewership rating of 24.85% for its finale, has been widely celebrated for its compelling narrative and Kim Soo Hyun's exceptional portrayal.


Kim Hye Yoon is set to receive the National Assembly Culture, Sports, and Tourism Committee Chairman’s Award for her role in Lovely Runner. Her portrayal of Im Sol, a character who travels through time to save her idol, has been acclaimed for its depth and emotional impact. The series' success, marked by high viewership and critical acclaim, underscores Kim Hye Yoon's remarkable talent.


Go Min Si will also be recognized for her impressive performance across all three seasons of the supernatural drama Sweet Home. Her role has been a standout in the genre, earning her accolades and a spot among this year's honorees.


Byun Yo Han will receive the National Assembly Culture, Sports, and Tourism Committee Chairman’s Award for his role in Disney+’s Uncle Samsik. His performance in this captivating series has contributed to its popularity and success.


Additional Awards

Chae Jong Hyeop and WJSN's Bona will be honored with the Seoul Tourism Foundation CEO Award. Chae Jong Hyeop has gained recognition for his work in Eye Love You and Serendipity's Embrace, while Bona has been acclaimed for her role in Pyramid Game.


The Korea Creative Content Agency President's Award will be presented to Modhaus CEO Jeong Byeong Gi, known as Jaden Jeong, for his role in planning and producing the successful girl group tripleS.


Additionally, Big Ocean will receive the Hallyu Special Award for being Korea’s first hearing-impaired group and their positive impact on the industry.


The 2024 K-Expo promises to be an evening of celebration, acknowledging the outstanding contributions of these individuals and groups to Korean culture and entertainment.
