In a troubling development in the Salman Khan house firing case, an arrested suspect has confessed to joining Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang after being influenced by social media. This latest revelation underscores the growing intersection of digital platforms and criminal activities.

        "Salman Khan"

Background of the Incident

In April, Salman Khan's Bandra residence was targeted with gunfire, an alarming act that sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry. Following the incident, several individuals have been arrested, and the investigation continues to unfold. The recent update from the chargesheet sheds light on how one of the suspects, Haripal Hardeep Singh (also known as Hari), came to be involved with the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Confession and Social Media Connection

According to a report by Free Press Journal, Hari disclosed that he joined Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang four years ago after following Bishnoi on Instagram. His involvement with the gang reportedly began after he joined an Instagram group called 'sopuprajasthangolden09,' which posts content related to Bishnoi's criminal activities. Hari’s Instagram handle, 'harry_rai_sopu_haryana,' features a video with Rafiq Mohammad (Golden), another suspect in the case, further connecting him to the gang.

The chargesheet reveals that Hari not only interacted with gang members through social media but also created reels from video calls involving Bishnoi and other gang members. This highlights the concerning trend of criminal organizations using social media for recruitment and coordination.

The Extent of Involvement

Hari’s confession also included details about maintaining contact with Bishnoi’s brother Anmol, who resides in Canada, and another gang member, Rohit Godhara. The investigation has uncovered that several Instagram profiles under the name 'Sopu Group 29' (Student Organization of Punjab University) are managed by Bishnoi’s network.

Salman Khan’s Statement

In response to the shooting, Salman Khan has informed the police that he suspects the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was behind the attack, aiming to kill him and his family. This statement was included in the chargesheet filed by Mumbai Police, reflecting the serious nature of the threats against him.

Current Status of the Case

The case has seen significant developments, with several suspects including Vickykumar Gupta, Sagarkumar Pal, Sonukumar Bishnoi, Anujkumar Thapan (who allegedly died by suicide in police custody), and Mohd Rafiq Choudhary being arrested. The remaining suspects are currently in judicial custody as the investigation continues.

The Salman Khan house firing case not only brings to light the dangers posed by organized crime but also illustrates how social media can be a powerful tool for criminal networks. As the investigation progresses, it is crucial to address these modern threats and consider the broader implications of digital platforms in facilitating illegal activities.
