Akshay Kumar Claps Back at Criticism Over His Busy Film Schedule

Akshay Kumar, Bollywood's prolific actor, recently addressed the flurry of criticism he’s faced for appearing in multiple films each year. Known for his relentless work ethic, Kumar frequently juggles several releases annually, which has drawn both attention and criticism.

"Akshay Kumar"

In a candid conversation with Ghazal Alagh, Kumar responded sharply to those questioning his decision to take on multiple projects. Critics have argued that he should focus on fewer films to ensure quality and box office success. However, Kumar retorted with his trademark wit, saying, “Agar ek film karo toh baaki din kya karenge? Aapke ghar aa jaayein kya?” (If I do one film, what will I do for the rest of the days? Should I come to your house?). He added, “Beta, yaad rakhna lucky are those people who get work. Yahan roz koi na koi bolta hai berozgaari chal rahi hai ye chal raha hai wo chal raha hai… jisko kaam mil raha hai usko toh karne do.” (Just remember that those who get work are lucky. Every day someone complains about unemployment and other issues... so if someone is getting work, let them do it).

Kumar’s reply underscores his belief that securing work in an industry plagued by uncertainty is a privilege. His response also reflects his commitment to staying active and relevant in the competitive world of cinema.

Mindful of Future Projects

Despite his busy schedule, Kumar has also been thoughtful about the projects he chooses. In a recent interview with Forbes India, he highlighted the importance of selecting scripts that resonate with contemporary audiences. He stressed the need for stories that not only entertain but also offer a meaningful cinema experience, acknowledging the audience's growing selectivity.

Upcoming Projects

Akshay Kumar’s filmography for the year includes an exciting lineup. His next release, Khel Khel Mein, is a comedy-drama directed by Mudassar Aziz. Set to hit theaters on August 15, 2024, the film stars Taapsee Pannu, Vaani Kapoor, Ammy Virk, Aditya Seal, and Fardeen Khan.

In addition to Khel Khel Mein, Kumar will appear in ForcSky Force and Welcome To The Jungle, showcasing his diverse range and continued prominence in the industry.

Akshay Kumar's robust response to critics highlights his dedication to his craft and his ability to handle scrutiny with humor and grace. His focus on staying relevant and choosing impactful roles reflects his deep connection to both his work and his audience.
